First Sale!
Hey you guys!
We sold our first item on January 5, 2025, at Chen’s Noodle House. Someone purchased the Yamato Starter Deck, and I wish I had been there for that milestone, especially since it was a One Piece TCG product—one I had eagerly picked up in early December last year (2024). The game's release date was December 2, 2022, and it has gained significant popularity in the years since its debut.
For its second anniversary, many TCG shops hosted tournaments and special events, including a pre-release event for the latest expansion, OP-09. To celebrate this milestone, special Don!! cards were available exclusively at the pre-release events. The entry fee for the tournament was $35, which included:
A special edition character card featuring a 7-cost blue Monkey D. Luffy
One special edition 2nd Anniversary Don!! card (Rainbow Luffy)
Six booster packs (72 cards total)
2nd Anniversary Promo Character Card
Monkey.D.Luffy
2nd Anniversary DON!! Card
Emperors In The New World (OP-09)
OP-09 is based on the recent events in One Piece Manga. As a fan, it’s amazing to see Buggy the Clown as a playable Leader.
If you’re interested in getting into any trading card game, attending a pre-release event is an excellent way to start. The One Piece community is incredibly welcoming, and many players are happy to teach newcomers how to play.
The store event I attended had 32 participants, and one lucky player pulled a Gol D. Roger (The Pirate King) Alternate Art! At least, that’s what it looked like from afar—though honestly, it might have been the elusive $4,000 manga version. I didn’t investigate further because I was too focused on building my deck.
The person sitting across from me pulled a Black/Purple Alternate Art Luffy—a $40 card that would have made my first pre-release experience even more special. I admit I felt a little jealous since he had let me choose my stack of packs first!
The One Piece TCG is based on the manga, video games, movies, and anime series. Many memorable scenes from the franchise have been incorporated into the trading card game, creating an engaging and fun community for its fans. Although I didn’t start at the beginning, I am happy to continue to follow this Card Trading Game.
Thank you to the person who purchased the Yellow Yamato Starter Deck. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do, and I look forward to the chance to meet and play with you someday. Best of luck in your games and future pulls!
I hope to have more news for you guys soon! Thank you for supporting and reading this blog.
Warm Regards,
Kevin C.
